Agilent Zorbax Stable Bond columns have the longest life time and the best reproducibility for low pH separations (down to pH 1). These columns use patented, unique, monofunctional silanes with bulky diisobutyl or diisopropyl side chain groups that sterically protect the siloxane bond from hydrolytic attack at low pH. Stable Bond packing materials are not endcapped and are compatible with all common mobile phases, including very high aqueous mobile phase. The SB-Aq columns are an ideal choice to increase the retention of many difficult acidic, basic and polar compounds which can be analyzed with excellent reproducibility and peak shape because the SB-Aq columns have a hydrophilic surface that inhibits phase collapse even with 100% aqueous mobile phase.
