  • Karl Fischer reagents
Pyridine-free Karl Fischer Reagents. Imidazole is used as a substitute for Pyridine to obtain a reagent with less toxicity. Furthermore, imidazole has also proved to contribute to a faster titration, a better end-point stability and more accuracy. Scharlau offers you one-component as well as two-component reagents. Two component reagents offer the advantage of a faster reaction, less consumption and better reagent stability. Methanol is still used instead of ethanol as a solvent in Scharlau reagents, since ethanol is a product which is subject to import restrictions and special taxation. You will be able to substitute your existing reagents with these without noticing any difference.
